C-WOLFE...
Colin, or “C. Wolfe,” is an original member of The House of Vibe. Brew and Colin go all the way back to the days of The Untouchables. Brew met Colin through Colin’s brother, Garfield, who has a friend of the band. Colin was a young aspiring bass player from LA. Colin was at one of the groups rehearsals when none other than Dr. Dre walked in in said that he needed an all-black rock band to tour with a new artist of his, Michell’e. The group had already committed to touring with UB40, and therefore could not make the gig, but Colin was available. Dre auditioned him and Colin ended up on tour with Dre and Michell’e in Japan for several months and when they got back, they hit the studio to record a track for an upcoming Lawrence Fishburn/Jeff Goldblum movie. Colin dropped a baseline of all basslines, Dre punched out “one-a-dem” classic Dre beats, then a young talent Dre was working with from Long Beach who called himself, “Snoop Dogg” jumped on the mic and there it was, the title song for the movie, “Deep Cover” also called, “187” was born. Colin became a staple in Dre’s Production team, playing on his legendary epic album, “The Cronic,” On, “Dre Day,” and others. He then began a long and successful career as a top Producer and Musician in the game ever since, working with not only Interscope but LaFace Records, Ruthless Records, Jive, Solar, Columbia, EMI, BMG, Arista, Rowdy Records, RCA, Motown... the list goes on.
