DAN...
Dan Boissy was born and raised in Orlando FL where he began playing saxophone at the age of eleven. Thanks to parents who were jazz lovers and supporters, Dan had ample exposure to live music at an early age. He attended The University of Central Florida and studied Saxophone Performance until 2000 when he moved to Los Angeles to join the house band at the world famous Coconut Club in Beverly Hills. In 2008 Dan met Brew at a Halloween party gig in Huntington Beach. Brew was diggin’ on Dan’s licks and said, “Why don’t you come down to Harvelle’s and consider yourself in the band?” He showed up the next week and has never stopped. Dan has performed with the Merv Griffin, Susan Somers, Barry Manilow, Sam Rivers, James Moody, Slash, Robert Walter, Bob Florence, and many others. Dan’s influences include John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Desmond, Maceo Parker, Stan Getz, James Brown, Eddie Harris, Michael Brecker, Charlie Parker, and many others.
