JON SWIFT....

Jon Piazza (aka Jon Swift) grew up in the heart of Northern Cali’s Bay Area indie Hip-Hop scene, studying jazz performance at the renowned Lamont School of music while immersing himself in the sounds of contemporary West Coast rap and R&B, from which he eventually developed his sound. He moved to Denver where he met HOV keyboard player Greg Raymond. Together, they eventually moved to LA. Soon after arriving, they saw a band called Wicked Wisdom featuring Jada Pinkett Smith playing at The Mint. Although he wasn’t that moved by Mrs. Smith, he was however blown away by the band... in particular, the keyboard player and his clear, see-through rhodes. One day, while coming back from a gig and unloading his gear into his recently acquired apartment, he finally stopped and talked to a downstairs neighbor, who he’d seen loading and unloading music gear in the past. That neighbor was Brew... who also turned out to be the SAME keyboard player he’d admired from Jada’s band! Jon has been a part of HOV ever since. Jon’s music has been featured on MTV, MTV.COM and Adidas “Brotherhood” ad campaign. He has performed and collaborated with such artists as Jon B., Chali 2na of Jurassic 5 & Ozomatli, the Flobots, and internationally acclaimed jazz musicians Eric Gunnison and Ron Miles.
