RACHEL....

RACHEL....
Rachel Lynn met Brew while frequenting the Toledo Show at Harvelle’s Night Club in 2006. After Toledo asked her to sing backgrounds for him, she got to know Brew and eventually asked him to play with her on her own project. “After a few gigs, Brew called me one night and asked me to come in to the studio with him and some friends to do some writing. They were producing the soundtrack for a feature film and needed a female vocalist and songwriter. I walked into the Venice studio (Beacon Street) that night and met Colin, Fish, Deploi and Excel for the first time.” One of the songs that she co-wrote on for the film was hot enough to be included in the HOV repertoire the following week, marking her first official HOV invite.
For Rachel, it all started with campfire sing-a-longs of Folk and Christian music.  Other influences came later as a teen. In college, she joined both Jazz and Gospel choirs. “I actually came out of college with a degree in the unrelated Theatre and Spanish.  On graduation day  my father asked me, 'So, what are you going to do now, kid?'  I said, 'Maybe I'll be a drama or choir teacher, Dad.' He said, 'Are you sure you don't want to go to Nashville and become a star?' Well she still hasn’t made to Nashville but she’s on the path of music for life.
In 2006 Rachel put out her first record. In 2007 she became a voice and performance coach and signed with an agent to book commercial studio work. In late 2008 she decided to take a risk and signed a contract touring the Asian club circuit as the female lead of a cover band. Well it’s 2010 and she’s still out there, “hustlin’, hustlin’, hustlin’ on!”
