RAY-RAY....

RAY-RAY....
Greg “ Ray-Ray” Raymond, a Rhode Island native, began studying classical piano at age 4 and continued until 18, at which point he made the leap to jazz in order to play in bands with friends. Greg continued his studies at Boston College and received and concentration (minor) in music. His passion for playing and composing all kinds of music compelled Greg to move to Boulder, Colorado in 1999 where he began a full-time music career. From '00 - '04 Greg toured the U.S. with long-time jam/jazz group The Motet where he shared the stage with the likes of Charlie Hunter, G-Love & Special Sauce, Stanton Moore, Stanley Jordan, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and The String Cheese Incident. Greg also has a passion for hip-hop and neo-soul. In addition to co-producing records for his bands The Break Mechanics and Future Jazz Project, these groups have also shared the stage with artists like KRS-One, Slick Rick, Ozomatli, Eric Roberson and Phat Kat. After moving to LA in 2007, Greg was asked to fill in for Brew that December on a WestSide Wednesday with House of Vibe at Harvelle's. The chemistry with the rest of the band was immediate and Greg was asked from there on out to be a second keyboardist for the band. As Harvelle's regulars know, 'more is more' with The House of Vibe All Stars and Brew and Greg both on keys has now become one of the defining sounds of the band.
